Serving God and the Community
In Prayer
Our prayers can make a difference to God and the World
God will always forgive a sinner who repents – and change that life forever
Pray for God’s presence in us; to be able to comfort others, and being grateful for what we have
Prayer is a spiritual recharging, best carried out daily
Prayer is a partnership between God and humanity
Jesus found prayer a lifeline. It guided Him and gave Him energy to do God’s will
We can always call on God when we are in trouble or distress
God does care about the details of our lives
Prayer can make a difference, but it may not be immediate. Perhaps months or years in advance
In Acts, Paul prayed for widows; but then appointed deacons to look after them
Prayer is not a substitute for action. Jesus spent long hours in prayer and long hours in action
We must learn to listen to a God who talks quietly to us
God invites us to pray for what we want, even though He knows our needs already
If we confess our sins, it opens up a channel of communication with God
